Heart to Heart Care for Elders

 

The essence of Heart to Heart Care is compassionate presence. This training seeks to help participants open their hearts to a deeper understanding of the physical, emotional and spiritual issues surrounding individuals as they age. Through experiential exercises and shared experiences, the training encourages participants to be a mindful presence with intentional touch. The fundamental aspects of compassionate touch are taught through lecture, video, and demonstration. 

 

This training is appropriate for anyone who is part of the care team for elders.

      

The following continuing education hours are approved:

Licensed Massage Therapists: 20 CE hours in Touch for Elder Care through NCBTMB

Certification in Heart to Heart Care

​

Heart to Heart offers a certification in Heart to Heart Care. Participants must complete Heart to Heart Care at End of Life and Heart to Heart Care for Elders and volunteer 48 hours with each population. Certification allows the volunteer to be considered as a Workshop Facilitator and eventually a class Instructor.
